Alas, Delay MP can be used only while the vehicle is stopped or using
platoon movement. (D2.17)

I would recommend doing the VCA waggle-shuffle, or if the enemy is > 2
hexes away, stop, delay, and restart. If the enemy is <= 2 hexes away,
then stopping would allow the point-blank modifiers to kick in, so be
cautious of that.
