Hi all,

This weekend, 33 players (including Mr Tuomo Lukkari
all the way from Finland!) converged on the lovely Best
Western Hotel in Marlborough, Mass for the Northeast's
largest annual ASL tourney.

Tom Morin defeated Carl Nogueira at the new Dispatches
scenario "Riding the Coattails" to claim the championship
with a perfect 5-0 record. His prize was another excellent
Joe Leoce diorama, probably his best ever, of a Japanese
tank hunter hero attacking a Grant while the tank crew
desperately hopes for a crew small arms boxcars.

Steve Johns finished 5-1 to claim second place prizes, a
plaque and a subscription to Dispatches from the Bunker.
Steve won a hard fought battle of High Danger against Al
Loiselle in his final round.

Andy Clarke claimed the 3rd place plaque with a 4-2 record
and the best strength of schedule tie-breakers.

Bruce Carson defeated Derek Dunn in the finals of the
one day Saturday mini-tournament to claim the final
plaque awarded for the weekend.

Jim Torkelson defeated Charlie Wilmer in Cream of the
Crop to win the Sunday mini-tournament, and prizes of
classic AH games generously donated by Rowland Hill,
formerly of Mass, now of Minnesota.

Herr Doktor Chris Spell, aka Baby Gor-Gor, extracted
his revenge for my first round BEATING of his partisans
by losing his last game, thus weakening my tie-breakers
enough to fall to fourth place. Thanks, pal. :-)

Thanks to Ralph McDonald for his fine TD work this
weekend, to Vic Provost for donating a Dispatches
scenario, to Carl Nogueira for making all the hotel
arrangements, to Joe Leoce for all his work into his
excellent prize, and to all the attendees for bringing
their fun attitudes and competition to the tourney!

Note, I still have one size large t-shirt available
for sale. I know the size rules out most of you
guys, but it is a great looking T, jungle green with
the NorEaster VIII logo across the front. Contact me
for details.

I'll be sending some pics to Bruce to put on the
website some time this week.

See ya,
Mike
