Well, I can live with that.

I don't feel that strongly about it, and evidently I haven't been making
much sense, either! Oh, well. It wouldn't be the first time that my
thoughts didn't find clear expression...

Nope. I know I do not agree with this.

First, the ATTACKER's "2", if it eliminates the DEFENDER, prohibits the
DEFENDER from Withdrawing... "Provided it has not already been
eliminated..."

Second, if an ATTACKER rolls an Original 2 CC DR, it is allowed to Withdraw
"without being attacked". Indeed, that unit must Withdraw even before any
Friendly units make their CC DR. That's what "immediately" means.

Maybe Tate can address this better than I, because he was arguing that
"making a CC DR" is the same as making an "attack". I.e., the act of making
the DR is the act of attacking.

If an ATTACKER Withdraws "without being attacked", for what reason would the
DEFENDER make its attack DR? There is no longer any target to attack. Or
does the DEFENDER roll its attack anyway, just for grins <g>, in the hopes
of rolling a "2"?

(Remember, the DR are not made simultaneously, they are made sequentially...
ATTACKER first.)

... and I'm still waiting to learn where it says that a created Leader can
split off of its creating MMC, i.e. one Withdraw and the other not Withdraw
due to Infiltration. Since both have participated in the attack (as if the
leader were present all along), then both must Withdraw...

Bah.

Regards,
Bruce Bakken
