Hi Andrew
Let me give an example then.
You have a stack of a 9-1 Leader and a 4-6-7 squad with a MMG (5FP). all in Good Order.
2 hexes away there is a Buttoned Up AFV facing away from you with a side/rear armor factor of 2.
7 hexes away there is an unarmored Truck (facing is irrelevant).
Your option are to either fire at the AFV using To Hit/To Kill or the Truck using the IFT.
1) If you fire on the AFV you have to secure a hit using the normal To Hit procedures (C3.).
You have Basic and Modified To Hit of 10 and a Final To Hit of 12 (-1 Case L, -1 Leader). So your chances of hitting it are pretty
good.
You roll a 2,3 and hit the Turret.
Now you have to see if you can kill it by using the To Kill table.
Your MG has a Basic To Kill number of 4 (and you are within normal range and have full FP). The Modified To Kill number is 6 (+1
Range, +1 Rear Target Facing). The Final To Kill number is 4 (-2 Armor Factor).
So you Stun the AFV by rolling a 4, eliminates it on a 3 and burn it on a 2.
2) If you decide to fire on the Truck there is no To Hit/To Kill. You only use one DR on the IFT.
You have a FP of 7 (5 MG and 2 for squad Long Range). If you go to the 7FP Column on the IIFT and move up to the *Ve line, you can
see it is a 6. This means that if you roll a 6 on the IFT DR, the Truck is Immobilized (unless Hull Down). On a 4 or 5 it is
eliminated and on a 2 or 3 it is burned.
Also note that the leader have no effect on this roll (A7.531).
Simple heh? :-)
Also check the example following A7.308
Cheers
Kenneth

Hi Kenneth,
I'd say I don't understand any of it. I'm using ASLRBv2.
A9.6) Using MG fire with TH/TK tables for lightly armoured vehicles.
A9.6) Using MG fire with the * line on IFT tables for unarmored
vehicles.
A9.6) The use of the word 'ordnance' in relation to MG fire.
A9.61) Using the AP table with MG fire.
And so on . . .

Hi Andrew
First of all there is an error in the article you linked to.
MG's do not get Multiple Hits (C3.8), so bare that in mind.
Secondly, I'd like to know which part you don't understand.
Is it the To Hit/To Kill process vs. Armored targets or is it the IFT
Resollution vs. Unarmored targets?
Cheers
Kenneth

Are there any examples/newbie explanations for A9.6 and A9.61 available?
This has me completely stumped.
The best information I've seen so far is at:
