Rules ignorance is not the same as deliberately making a rule optional, or
deliberately playing a rule incorrectly.

believe I've ever played a flawlessly applied game of ASL.
If my opponent is not playing by the rules, I would hope that I would be
aware of it. If I am not aware of it, I am de facto also not playing by the
rules. At least we would both be playing it the same way.

You have high integrity, and I respect that. If ever we play, I will
certainly point out any violations, and I would expect you to do the same.
The only way to make a contest fairly won is by adhering to all rules.
However, that yah-hoo standing next to us, watching? I want him to keep his
trap shut.
