I still think electronic distribution of the rule-book
is still being highly overlooked.  I would just use
similar distribution models that are used to prevent
copyright infringement in academia, things like
study.net and xanedu.com - You can only view the
material when you are logged into the system and the
software only permits you to print it one time.  Not
only could you charge for the initial rulebook, but
you could have a yearly maintenance model that creates
residual income for MMP as well as incentives to
electronically publish updated pages with the errata
incorporated.  Also by distributing it that way, MMP
does not bear the printing costs, and if you want a
really really high quality print of the rulebook, you
could have your local copy shop do it for your "1
legal print copy"... not that this is not a dead
horse... but I am still going to try to use the
defibrillator on it ;)
