One of the things that people tend to forget is that the Axis Minor powers, while clearly not first rate fighters, became more determined and hardy as the Red Army closed on their homelands. The action around Budapest, Hungary, which also involved the creme of what was left of the SS, was very fierce from what I recall.
There is a Budapest HASL in development; a playtest was run at Winter Offensive 2003, and while one of the developers contacted me a while back to say there had been some delays, the project is back on the burner.
There's more to the Axis Minors than just slaughtering them. Personally, I love playing the Italians, French and such. Where's the fun if all you have are 838 uber-truppen?
