No... If you are in an illuminated location, you can't see any
non-illuminated location. The only thing you could see would be a unit in
bypass in J11. (The bypass locations are illuminated by the starshell.)

Those starshells can backfire. You can indeed have situations like there
where you could see a location - and you fire a starshell and you then can't
see the same location.
But play this one. It's a neat campaign.
And you'll learn a lot about Jungle and night. :)
