It's better etiquette when *asking* for help to provide your would-be
assistants with sufficient information so that they can, in fact, help you.
The onus is on *your* shoulders, my friend.

As for being polite -- all I said was that you asked a very vague question
that was virtually impossible to answer, without expecting your volunteer
helpers to go out of their way to dig up information that you could have
easily provided in the first place.

Instead of learning something useful from this, you appear to have gotten
huffy and sensitive.  What were you saying about being polite?

It's really not difficult -- when requesting assistance, *provide details*.
Don't just assume that everyone knows what you're talking about, because the
reality is that no-one knows what you're talking about.  There are no
telepathic experts around these parts.
