I guess that depends on what you consider "long".  It doesn't seem like an
excessively long time to me.  (It takes less time than it does to start MS
Word.)  Probably has a lot to do with your PC's memory and power (and
operating system).

I have an Athlon 600 with 256 Mb RAM running Windows XP.  Most things zip
along speedily enough for my modest needs.  (The 128 Mb 3D video card
doesn't hurt, either.)
