[ASLML] ABTF 4 - VC question

Dear Listers,

I'm about to play ABTF 4 "First Threat".

The VC say: The British receive Casualty VP normally [EXC: eliminated AFV
are worth 1/2 their normal CVP value].

Question is: if the British kill a tank, the crew is worth just 1 VP, right?
If they kill the crew outside the vehicle, they score 2 VP, right?

Strange!
