Actually the Mk II Medium Tank is the tank I am looking at. According to
Ellis and Chamberlain it did see action in NA during the late summer 40
through the spring of 41.
Brits were scrambling for whatever armor was available and this was the tank
that was made obsolete the most recent so was available in some numbers.
BTW it was practically brimming with MG, 6 in all.

I'm pretty sure you'll find this was the 47mm gun used in the Vickers Medium
Mk I and II tanks built and used in the late '20s and early '30s. They
didn't see any use during WWII AFAIK, although I've seen a photo of what
look to be Vickers Medium turrets used in the fixed defences of Tobruk in
1941.
This was a medium velocity weapon. I don't have any actual penetration
data, but I think if you called it a 47 and gave it the Basic TK# of 10 you
wouldn't be far off the mark.
