I agree with Wayne's answers; the reason why is that A4.7 does not
specifically indicate that advancing units *must* move either individually
or as a stack; given that nothing is said about, you would therefore apply
the *normal* "movement procedure" of A4.2, which gives you the choice.

Usually it doesn't matter, but in the case where the DEFENDER may have
minefields or other hidden fortifications, you would be wise to only advance
one unit at a time, to give yourself more flexibility in dealing with
unexpected discoveries.  (It doesn't matter versus HIP enemy units, since
the ASOP indicates that they don't lose HIP until after the APh is
concluded.)
