I must say I haven't experienced that yet (touch wood!).

What I have seen is my Soviet HMG death star in RB melt away within a couple
of turns thanks to a few 12's and 6 's on the repair attempts...

And this was while a nearby 'Red Dwarf' of MMG's manned by Conscripts (yes,
B10!) carried on unabated!
