I like "British and American Tanks of World War Two -- The complete
illustrated history of British, American and Commonwealth tanks
1933-1945" by Peter Chamberlain and Chris Ellis.  It includes a lot
development history, includes most interesting technical details (no
details on armour thickness, though), but is lacking a bit when it
comes to operational history.
