To repeat what I said earlier, and to indicate that I am in agreement with
Marty: A12.12 says that you cannot place a *single* concealment counter
beneath a real unit. It says nothing about stacks of them.

When you put it like that, possible my way of doing it has not been strictly
correct. Mostly I do it to save time, on the assumption that the vehicle
will lose concealment before the infantry does. If you use a single (5/8")
concealment counter for the entire stack, when the vehicle inevitably loses
its concealment, you'll need to place a 1/2" counter on the infantry any
way. (Well, depending on the exact circumstances, but I think you see what
I mean.)

I confess that I've never given any thought before as to whether what I've
been doing has been "correct", and I'm not sure that any of my opponents
have ever cared. It most often happens when offboard units are set up, in
which case they move separately (and thus need separate concealment) most of
the time any way, except in the case of armoured assaults, in which case the
whole stack will lose concealment (since they're probably going to move in
OG in LOS of the enemy, otherwise why use armoured assault?).

Phew.

Bottom-line is that I'm not sure it's really that big a deal either way.
I'd be happy to use whichever method my opponent declared as a preference.
