As in Brian's example, you cannot have a stack such as (?, vehicle, ?,
infantry). That's clear from A12.11. You could, however, have a stack (?,
?, vehicle, infantry).

Regarding "obvious"...
Consider this combination: (1/2 ?, 5/8 counter, 1/2 counter)
It could be (?, Gun, crew), or it could be (?, vehicle, squad). I do not
believe it is obvious which it might be (OB considered, of course).
It most certainly *could not* be (?, vehicle, ?).
How about this: (1/2 ?, 5/8 ?, squad)... kinda looks like an "obvious" Gun,
eh? (I grant that these applications may be very rare...)
