I believe that D.8 says exactly the opposite.  In the case of Specific
Collateral Attacks, there is no "original attack", there is only the attack
vs. the vehicle.

You're correct that A8.2 does indeed say that.  I don't know how to resolve
that with what D.8 says.  It seems to me that one of them is contradicting the
other.  Time for a Q to Perry, I guess ....
