I will accept any posting labeled a
Perry Sez as "certified", and I use
the Perry Sez Site.
Whilst it has crossed my mind that someone
could "make up" such a ruling, note that if
they ever got caught, they'd probably
become an ASL pariah. Any such public
posting, on, say, the ASLML, if it were
controversial enough, would undoubtedly
get the attention of Perry himself, and then
the cats's out of the bag.
I have already expressed my dissatisfaction
with *not* having these things immediately
posted on the MMP Website as "official"
if the subject matter warrants it. I'm sure there
*are* times when he need only reply to the
sender, but *always* replying *only* to the
poster can only result in further splintering of
accurate rules knowledge, especially if the "Q"
is a very good one, and it's not something that
could otherwise be easily answered with the rules
as written.
I will always post my "A"s to the ASLML, that's the
best I can do - Perry/MMP could do a lot better
by simply putting them on the Site, and making
them resolutely "official".
Anyone that sends in a Q will need to accept that it
becomes MMP property on the spot, can be edited,
and disseminated as they see fit.
If Perry/MMP are going to make official rulings, they
should make every effort to see that the *entire*
community has access, ASAP.
