Hi Al,

The Noreaster Main Tournament has prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
1st place is a wonderful diorama done by Joe Leoce (pictures of previous
prizes can be found on the YASL web site). 2nd & 3rd place prizes are
plaques. In the past we have also had gift certificates from MMP
and Dispatches from the Bunker, and I am currently in the process
of acquiring them for this year.

The winner of the main tournament is the last undefeated player who
has played in all previous rounds. With attendence in the 50s, and
players being matched up with opponents of like record, that usually
means 6-0 is required to win. 2nd and 3rd place are decided by a set
of tie-breakers listed under tourney rules on the YASL web site, but
in general you should expect to play all 6 rounds to contend for
a plaque. A couple years ago I lost my first game in the 3rd round
(Sat morning), but won my last 3 games to finish in 2nd at 5-1. So
an early loss does not prevent claiming a plaque.

There is a 3 round all day Saturday mini-tournament with a plaque as
prize for 1st place.

Last year there was an informal 1 round Sunday mini that proved
quite popular, with door prizes of games, videos, or books donated
by other attendees. We hope to do the same this year, but it is
not a formal part of the tourney.

Lastly, there is the Big MoFo Mini-tourney, 3 rounds of large all
day scenarios, 1 round played per day. This is an opportunity to
play those multi-hour monster scenarios that most people don't get
a chance to play at their local club meetings. The last undefeated
player in the MoFo tourney also wins a plaque.
