Was true when mailing lists were invented, still true
now: The correct setting is where most responses go to.

Most responses go off list.
or
Most list posters are idiots who regularly send mails
full of personal information in responses.
Shouldn't matter for you, seeing as you seem to think
that you need to send people two copies of your posts.
