I agree with Wes that the rule seems incomplete.  My best guess is that in
this case the weapon is eliminated, based on D6.24.  When a Rider Bails Out
and does not break, any SW it possesses must be checked for malfunction;
this rule specifies that any X# SW that rolls a malf. result is eliminated
instead.
