I had Balance in this one, all buildings are wood, so it was a bit
easier to hit but not by much.
I used my S-T's for Armoured Assault and to provide smoke cover in the
form of the snabble-woofers. My lads moved together for the first half
of the match (they could pop a wall of smoke and if the 17 pdr popped
up, they could always declare Platoon Movement and try to slime out of
harms way) and then split up to perform specific smoke tasks at the
mid-point. The endgame had them still on smoke duty and they were all
together. One was lost to a PIAT and another was DI'd by a PIAT. We
hid from the 17 pdr once it made its presence known.
I fired the big guns about 8 times, 6 were misses except for the last 2
were hits at PB range. I needed back to back 4's to get those.
However, once the target was hit the results were rather spectacular.
KIA'd all the enemy targets. Sadly no rubble, falling or otherwise,
ensued.
I lost as the German. This resulted more from being held up by unending
CC's and HS's that refused to break more than anything else. Fun
scenario, IMHO, and I would gladly give it a go as either side but the
balance for the German might be a good angle to go for if you are
leading Jerry.
A fun part of the scenario was in the beginning when I ran a platoon of
447's across all that OG in the mid-map area. I fully expected them to
get shot up as their mission was to draw fire which they did. With
their gallant 8-0 leading the way with 8 MF's, (kinda' like Winters in
BoB when they were in Holland) they made it into the woods and put the
boots to the Canukleheads facing them.
Great fun!
