The wording of this rules section (A12.152) was changed in version 2 (to
clarify, IMO). "...The Final dr indicates the number of Accessible hexes
other than its own of the ATTACKER's choice which the unit/stack may NOT
search..."
So its entirely possible that you will only be able to search your own hex.
But you will always get to search your own hex...
